The 9-to-5 work model was born during the Industrial Revolution, pioneered by companies like Ford Motor Company. In 1926, Henry Ford adopted the eight-hour workday, popularizing the structure as a means to boost productivity and worker well-being. This schedule became the gold standard worldwide, eventually enshrined in labor laws.

While the 9-to-5 served its purpose in an era dominated by factory jobs, its relevance has diminished in the knowledge-driven economy. With technology enabling connectivity beyond office walls and globalization reshaping work patterns, this rigid schedule now feels like a relic of the past.
